John Heesom

John Heesom (Chairman)

John is a survivor of the original Stockport Cine Society. John has a great sense of humour which is reflected in his ability to produce short witty films starring the local birds and wild life found in his well kept garden. John is an excellent ambassador for PSM, a talent which comes to the fore when we present our films to other clubs in the North West area. He is noted for the impromptu remarks which he employs in the summing up of a visiting club´s selection of films.

John Newton (Vice Chairman)

John was still working for British Telecom when he joined the ranks of the Stockport Cine Society. He has served as Club Secretary for 35 of those and has progressed from Standard ´8´ to Digital Video. John is co-ordinator for the Northern News in the National IAC publication FVM (Film and Video Maker). He has what has been described as a ''quirky'' sense of humour which he has difficulty in suppressing and is a firm supporter of the North West Film Archive to which he has contributed a number of club and personal films including a series of ''Newsreel'' about times past and present around the Stockport and Manchester area.
Marjorie Gregory

Marjorie Gregory (Honorary Secretary)

Marjorie joined PSM in 2001 and as a secretary and administrator for most of her working life, Marjorie is well qualified for the clerical side of the job. After editing video taken in Australia in 2000 from camera to VHS tape via the TV, she concluded that there had to be a better way so invested in a pc with Pinnacle Studio DV. Then later wrestling with editing her daughter's wedding she decided it was time to seek help and so she joined PSM and the upgrade to Premiere 6.5 was made. For the latest upgrade, Marjorie decided to jump the Microsoft ship and swim to an Apple Mac using Final Cut Express. She also maintains the club website.
Doreen Williams

Doreen Williams (Honorary Treasurer)

Doreen has been a member of PSM since 2005 and for the past few years has supported her husband, Alan, during his time as the previous Treasurer. She helped with the bookkeeping when he took on the role and has also accompanied the projectionist (normally Alan or Alaister) on several occasions when they travelled to various clubs and societies to show a programme of films from the PSM library. Doreen has managed the club's catering for members and guests and will continue in this role.
Alaister Macrae

Alaister (Technical Advisor)

A Scot born in Edinburgh, Alaister Joined the club in 1985 and a year later became Treasurer. For over twenty years he epitomised the old Scots proverb that "many a mickle maks a muckle," before standing down as Treasurer at the end of 2006. During this time he also became the "technical" adviser to the club and is known as the "Flying Doctor" for his visits to members with computer complications. Under his stewardship, PSM has been able to keep abreast of the continuing technical changes in amateur movie making and as a result, PSM is fully equipped to present the full range of members' film productions, whatever the medium.
