2007 Review

Members of PSM went along to view the competition and to support the 2007 Mersey Ten Film Festival in March and the North West film Festival in October. The latter was held at Chads Theatre, Cheadle Hulme. It was organised by the IAC North West committee who asked whether our club would be able to arrange the projection. Alan Williams, assisted by Alaister Macrae and Richard Gabb, was pleased to be able to agree. Alan also transported the screen and liaised with the theatre management on sound.

Sadly there were no PSM drama films produced by members during 2007, mainly due to family commitments of the more enthusiastic drama film makers, however, many excellent videos were produced by individual members during the year and standards remained high. No club 'away days' were organised in 2007. Suggestions for places to visit in 2008 are invited!

The Annual General Meeting was held on the 6th December and was, as usual, well attended. The minutes of last year's meeting were accepted as read and the accounts for the year confirmed that club funds were healthy.

Marion Newton said she wished to step down from the committee. Marion, along with Maud Macrae, had carried the responsibility for ensuring that club members were fed and watered every club night for over 25 years as well as organising the catering for special events - all while carrying the burden of supporting husband John throughout his many years of film producing! Everyone expressed their gratitude to Marion and Helen Wright agreed to take on her overall responsibilities.

Richard Gabb was appointed to replace Geoff Roland and to help support Brian Whitworth who is currently suffering with health problems.

Marion had a nostalgic yearning to hold a Beetle Drive for the end of year party entertainment and the rules of the game were treated with the usual total disregard! The threatened ensuing riots were quickly quelled by the arrival of excellent food and drink in the adjacent room.
